Safe Campus CSU

As we finalize plans for our return to campus we encourage you to check back here for the latest updates

Dear Campus Community,

体育投注站在线Over the past month, our leadership team – in partnership with health experts and our campus community – has been working to develop and implement a comprehensive repopulation plan for our safe return this fall. As we did with our successful transition to remote teaching and learning in the spring, we have been thoughtful and deliberate in our planning and preparation, and are now ready to repopulate our campus in a way that ensures the health and safety of our community to the greatest extent possible.

One principle of our planning work was a commitment to include broad input from our campus community. We gave careful consideration to the views expressed in survey results and other feedback from students, parents, faculty, professional staff and other stakeholders on how we should best return to campus. To assess our ability to effectively minimize our campus footprint, we engaged in extensive analysis to ensure our decisions are data-driven and based upon the latest science in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and protecting our students and workforce.

The good news today is that we are now ready to offer a robust college experience this fall for all students that will include the maximum number of in-person classroom experiences that we can safely deliver, return of faculty and staff in numbers that support our increased on-campus presence, residential living options for students, on-site access to many of our campus facilities and support services, and a phased approach to resuming activities for our student athletes. Highlights of our plan include:

Academics: We will adopt a hybrid approach that pairs a large selection of on-campus classes with remote teaching and learning options. Based upon current modeling on classroom capacity, our current fall schedule, and safety protocols, our intent is to offer over 50% of currently scheduled fall classes on-campus. Between now and August 20th, we will continue to work with faculty and staff to ensure we meet our collective and individual needs for curricular content, personal safety, technology and course delivery. This will include accommodations, as appropriate, for employees at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 due to health conditions; it will also include scheduling flexibility for students who may be at higher risk and desire additional online sections. Residential Living/Student Life: Our current plan is to offer a full residential experience for students this fall, with strict protocols for de-densifying our residence halls and social distancing. For additional details regarding on-campus housing click here.

Research: We have already begun repopulating our many research labs and support functions. For more details, click here.

Administration: Our Provost, Deans and Vice Presidents will be working on individualized plans to repopulate campus services in a way that supports our needs for fall while maintaining an appropriate and safe campus footprint.

Athletics: Beginning July 15, CSU Athletics is preparing a phased resumption of operations for our 4 fall team sports: men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and cross country. More information can be found here.

Facility safety and security: Modifications to classrooms to promote safe distancing, protective shielding in high-contact areas, new hand-washing stations, increased staffing for sanitizing spaces, and new signage are all underway. More information can be found here.

“Healthy behaviors” that will drive our success: It will be up to us to keep ourselves and others safe. This includes multiple layers of protection like daily health assessments, a personal responsibility commitment, masks at all times, frequent handwashing, physical distancing, and more to keep us all working toward our common health goal. A detailed listing of our environmental and personal safety measures can be found here.

Here体育投注站在线 is a press release we will share with the media and other external constituents later today that outlines our approach.

In the coming weeks and months, I will again ask for your collective support – and feedback – as we continue to work together in service to CSU.

体育投注站在线Have a safe and enjoyable summer!
